The 165 acre TND in the Durham/Chapel Hill area is projected to include a mixed-use town center, approximately 1,000 residential units, and significant preservation of hydrologic and ecologically sensitive areas.
Morris Beacon Design participated as a charrette design team member with a focus on integration of sustainable site design and green infrastructure into the master plan, and is currently working to develop more detailed site design and stormwater management strategies as the master plan continues to evolve. |

The Attleboro Downtown Development plan envisions development of more than 500 new housing units and a mixed-use square within downtown, including a new Intermodal Transportation Center, modifications to the existing commuter rail station, and a new 900 space parking garage.
Morris Beacon Design is responsible for civil engineering and urban design to implement Goody Clancy’s district master plan. Responsibilities include roadway relocation and intermodal circulation, block structure and thoroughfare design, open space and ped/bike trails, riverfront flood control analysis, utility planning and grading, and phased parking management. |

The Dublin School, a private school located on scenic Mount Monadanock in southern New Hampshire, seeks an urban design, architecture, and landscape framework to accommodate future growth. Imai Keller Moore has been hired to develop this framework by creating a master plan to direct growth while mitigating significant environmental and topographic constraints.
Morris Beacon Design is responsible for assisting Imai Keller Moore with development of the campus master plan, especially in the areas of vehicular and pedestrian circulation, parking management, open space strategies, construction feasibility, and site sustainability |

Whitaker Hill is a 30 acre TND in Asheville, NC, including approximately 500
residential units, 125,000 sq. ft. of commercial space arranged around a village
center, and several community parks and open spaces.
Morris Beacon Design prepared post-charrette conceptual master plan layout, grading, and utility plans for the project’s conditional zoning application technical review submittal. Responsibilities also included parking analysis, water/sewer allocation request
coordination, and conceptual sustainable stormwater management design. |

The 2006 Knight Program Charrette was a six-day effort focusing on a mile-square area just east of downtown Memphis. The area is bisected by automobile oriented thoroughfares and has seen broad disinvestment in the face of major growth by three bordering major medical centers.
Jonathan Ford was responsible for transportation & utilities stakeholder meetings, public meeting facilitation, transportation, streetscape, and engineering design, and open space design and coordination with the charrette team. |
