| Jonathan Ford will speak at the 8th Annual New Partners for Smart Growth Conference in Albuquerque on January 24, 2009. Jon will present along with Lee Sobel (US EPA) and Kevin Klinkenberg (180 Degrees Urban Design & Architecture) during the session "The Beautiful American Grid - the Embodiment of Smart Growth". Jon will discuss lessons learned from typical historical American grid town patterns and their design, implementation, and relative construction cost. |

| An essay by Jonathan Ford was chosen by the Congress selection committee for follow-up and presentation at the annual NextGen Congress. Jon will speak about infrastructure costs and implementation, outlining the components of TND and conventional infrastructure and stressing the importance of using the language of developers to effect widespread implementation of projects that reflect the core principles of the Charter. | Jonathan Ford presented the preliminary findings of the Comparative
Infrastructure Analysis of Smart Growth & Conventional Projects to a
gathering of representatives from national high-production builders on
February 1, 2007. Initial feedback was enthusiastic, and the study is
currently in the process of being refined based upon builders' comments.
Expect findings to be published in Spring of 2007. |
