Sustainable Office

MBD is proud to call the Box Office home. The Box Office consists of 12 office/studio spaces constructed from 32 recycled shipping containers on an abandoned strip of Providence history - the former Harris Lumber site.

The Box Office is a collaborative environment housing a variety of green design entrepreneurs, and includes high performance windows and doors, high efficiency air heat pumps in each unit, ERV units to conserve energy and to provide fresh air, and low density lighting. In addition, the site layout and stormwater management systems naturally filter and infiltrate well over 90% of the annual stormwater runoff volume on site using bioretention systems and underground infiltration trenches.

• Jonathan Ford walks and bicycles to work and throughout Providence when the New England weather allows.
• Business cards and company collateral are electronic whenever possible, and printed on 100% recycled content paper only when necessary.
• All office paper/plastic is recycled.
• All washable, reusable office dishes/glasses/silverware.
