Civil Engineering, Planning, Urban Design

Our Philosophy Defined

Design, v., (di-zin) To create or execute in an artistic or highly skilled manner.

Morris Beacon Design combines civil engineering expertise with a broad view of placemaking and community. From detailed site grading and utility design to master plan street network layout and everything in between, design is always with vision of the character of the resulting place in mind.

Implementation, n., (im’-ple-ment-ta-shen) The carrying out or physical realization of something; translating an idea into action.

Walkable, sustainable design demands attention to detail to avoid compromising of the principles and vision. Morris Beacon Design provides integrated site layout, grading, and utility design services to develop construction documents for New Urbanist & TND projects without sacrificing the intent of the master plan.

Vision, n., (vizh’-en) A compelling and inspiring image of a desired and possible future that a community seeks to achieve, a shared mental framework that helps give form to the often abstract future that lies ahead.

Morris Beacon Design implements community vision by bringing shared goals and principles into focus.

Connection, n., (ken-ek’-shen) A link, as in transportation; a joining: the act of bringing two things into contact (especially for communication).

Interconnected community design facilitates mobility for vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists. In addition, walkable community design has tremendous impact on social connections and can foster healthy, tight-knit neighborhoods.

Collaboration, n., (ke-lab’-e-rat) The act of working together to achieve common goals.

As disciplines continue to become more specialized, Morris Beacon Design’s holistic approach to the design process results in smooth coordination and an enhanced design. Thoughtful collaboration can result in solutions that transcend what was previously thought possible.
